2022 Sandra Pinot Noir

Where the Wabi Sabi is earthy and austere, the Sandra is made to be fruity and flippant. Named for our matriarch Sandra Zahoudanis, the Sandra pinot noir is designed to showcase more of the fruity aspects of pinot noir. We pick fairly early to retain a good amount of natural acid in the grapes, but not so early that the strawberry and cherry notes aren’t apparent.

2021 Constantine

Constantine is one of our flagship wines. The percentages vary from vintage to vintage, but it is consistently a GSM. We choose from the cellar the best barrels that will add their strengths to the blend: some treble notes, some bass notes, all blending together into a balanced sound.

2021 North Slope

The North Slope Syrah is a blend of fruit from the best Syrah blocks on the property. These blocks have ideal exposure, microclimate, and low yields to create a balanced and interesting wine. Generally the North Slope sees a small amount of new French oak, just enough to add depth without overpowering the fruit.

2021 "Wabi Sabi" Pinot Noir

This wine is complex, both aromatically and on the palate. Whole-cluster fermentation restrains the sweetness or sappiness while leaving a dense and layered fruit profile. It offers intense black cherry, cherry cola, pomegranate, violets, sassafras, black tea, red licorice and lavender. The palate is rich, full and intense, with pronounced, tight tannins and firm acid structure.

2021 Agno

Agno is our pure version of Mourvedre off the estate. Usually used as a smaller part of a larger ensemble, this is our opportunity to make Mourvedre the solo artist. Our goal is a full bodied and fruit forward wine, with enough tannins to bolster up the backbone of the palate without requiring a steak pairing for balance.

2021 Agape

The Agape is our notoriously big syrah. This is the only wine we make that sees a large amount of new oak. The fruit is allowed to sit longer on the vine, helping it reach high sugar levels that will translate into a larger bodied finished wine, one that will be able to handle the high percentage of new oak that we throw at it. This wine is exclusive to our Wine Society Members.

2020 ‘Le Belier’ Pinot Noir

The ‘Le Belier’ is a unique Pinot Noir for Demetria, and one that we make only in years that showcase a specific flavor profile. Meaning ‘The Ram’, this wine is a heartier take on our generally more delicate Pinot Noir. Medium-low tannin, you can expect notes of mushroom and violet, with a fair amount of spice on the palate.

2019 Cuvee Matia

This focused and revealing whole-cluster Grenache opens with a dense nose of cherry cola, coffee, pomegranate and violets. In the mouth, dried strawberry, blood orange, sour cherry, and herbal notes make an appearance in a rich, full-bodied, silky textured wine finishing with lasting but balanced tannins. Already showing very well this wine will lay down for another 8-10 years.

2022 Santa Barbara County Chardonnay

The goal for our chardonnay is a clean, varietally correct version representative of Santa Barbara County. Any given year we work with vineyards in the Sta. Rita hills all the way to SMV. Instead of showcasing one particular part of the valley we chose the valley as a whole. We aim for bright acidity and a full texture.

2022 Viognier

The 2022 Viognier was harvested at similar ripeness levels to previous years, but like many of our other wines it was a little more textural and less acidic than past vintages. Grapes were direct pressed, fermented in a combination of stainless steel, concrete, oak and acacia barrels, and aged in stainless, oak and acacia barrels. We aim for the wine to be riding the line of texture and acidity, and this wine does that. You get more marzipan and creme brulee characters than in vintages past.

2020 Cuvee Papou

We’re especially excited about this library release. The 2020 Cuvee Papou has developed a beautiful flavor profile that only appears after a few years in the cellar. Lemon and lavender on the nose with honey, caramel, and a slice of apple pie on the palate.
