 Meet The Team

Ryan Roark

Vineyard Manager and Winemaker

Ryan grew up in Marshall, TX, a small town in the northeast part of the state. He studied at Texas A&M and graduated with a degree in Bioenvironmental Sciences. During a summer agricultural internship program in Angers, France, Ryan was introduced to vineyard work and was immediately hooked. He then worked at Domaine Taillandier, which further spurred him into wine, eventually leading him to Napa Valley, New Zealand, and finally Santa Barbara County

In 2009 he started his own small company, Roark Wine Company, making wine and farming small vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley. Looking to expand his farming, he took over the vineyard management at Demetria in 2019 and in 2021 added the role of winemaker. To be able to farm a historic vineyard and make wine for owners with a shared vision is truly a dream come true.

Emily Myers

Assistant Winemaker

Emily was born and raised in Marina del Rey, CA. She graduated from UCSB with a degree in English and music, two degrees that were sure to make her wildly wealthy. After trying her hand at a few different industries, she found her way to wine by chance. Starting in a tasting room on weekends in Santa Barbara, she worked her way up to management at various wineries and eventually found her way to production. She started at Demetria in 2021 as Assistant Winemaker. She loves eggs, the outdoors, and tea.

Logan Livermore

Events and Hospitality

Logan was born and raised in beautiful Santa Ynez. He entered the wine industry in 2018 when he came on board at Demetria after years of bar and restaurant management. When asked why Demetria, Logan said “I love wine but can’t stand the pretentiousness that’s often associated with it. The first time I came to Demetria I felt like I stepped into someone’s home, not a tasting room. It still feels that way today.” When not battling wine snobbery Logan can be found hiking, playing music, bbqing in his backyard, and hanging with his family.

Nick Marchi

Wine Club Manager

Nick was brought up here in Santa Ynez Valley, spending his childhood between Los Olivos and the town of Santa Ynez. After trying out a series of odd jobs (ie. karate instructor, hot air balloon pilot, etc), Nick found his way to the world of wine, being drawn in by the kind people in the industry. He joined the Demetria team in 2015 as our wine club manager and unofficial cat wrangler.
